Delivered through a blended learning format, the course combines a 2-hour online learning module with a 1-day practical training session. The online module must be completed before attending the face-to-face training day.

The course covers the role and responsibilities of an emergency first aider, casualty assessment, incident management, CPR and AED use, unconscious casualties, choking, bleeding, shock, burns, minor injuries, and common workplace medical emergencies.

Using realistic practical scenarios, learners will develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to assess incidents, provide immediate casualty care, and respond effectively to workplace emergencies until professional help arrives.

Suitable For: Suitable for employees, supervisors, managers and business owners requiring a recognised workplace first aid qualification. Ideal for offices, retail, hospitality, schools, charities, self-employed workers and designated workplace first aiders.

Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements or previous first aid qualifications needed to attend this course. Learners should be willing to participate in practical activities and assessments throughout the training.

Qualification Gained: Upon successful completion, learners will receive an Active Aid Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Certificate, . The qualification is valid for three years and meets the requirements for workplace emergency first aiders.

Minimum Age: 16

Fitness: This is an active, practical course. To meet certification requirements, all learners must participate in practical assessments, including CPR and recovery position exercises, some of which will require kneeling on the floor. Please ensure you are able to physically take part in these activities. If you have any concerns regarding mobility or physical requirements, please contact us before booking to discuss how we can support your participation. Learners should wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement, such as loose-fitting trousers, leggings, or jeans. We recommend avoiding skirts or restrictive clothing that may cause discomfort during practical assessments.
