Course Details

Request this course for a private group to reduce your training costs and ensure that the first aid training is specific to your particular environment.

Please note: the minimum number of attendees for a private booking is 6 and, during the Covid-19 pandemic, to aid social distancing the maximum number is 10. Also, during this period private bookings can only be held at Staveley Village Hall.

Course Covers: This course involves the completion of an online learning module followed by 2 practical days training.
Learners will be expected to complete the online module before attending the practical day(s).
This 2-day + 6 hrs online module course is the national benchmark in outdoor first-aid designed to be interactive and flexible to suit those working or participating in in adventurous activities in remote UK environments.

The practical training course will develop participants confidence & skills for assessing & treating associated injuries & medical emergencies on water, rock & land necessary to stabilise a casualty until a rescue team arrive.
This course is also suitable for participants requiring a First Aid at Work qualification and/or a 12 hr Paediatric First Aid qualification.

Suitable For: Outdoor instructors and outdoor enthusiasts, Sports coaches. All NGB's, BCU, RYA, MTA, BASI etc Ideal for those working in forestry environments including forestry workers, arborists, vegetation clearance, tree planting & Forestry Commission work.

Requirements: These courses are heavily modified to keep within Covid-19 government guidelines and include: 2m distancing - No interpersonal touching - No sharing of equipment - Pre-course COVID questionnaires.

Qualification Gained: All our First Aid at Work courses are certificated through First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) 2-day Outdoor First Aid 3-day First Aid at Work Anaphylaxis Forest Schools 12 hr Paediatric First Aid Catastrophic Bleeding

Minimum Age: 16

Fitness: This course is active and practical. To meet the certification requirements all learners must be assessed whilst performing practical elements of the course, some of which will require you to kneel on the floor. Please ensure that you can physically fulfil these practical requirements. Please wear suitable clothes; loose-fitting trousers, leggings, or jeans. We advise against wearing a skirt or anything short that may leave you feeling uncomfortable during practical assessments.
