Professional Drivers First Aid (Driver CPC) Unit 1 and Unit 2

These courses are approved by the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT) to meet Driver CPC training requirements for professional drivers of large goods vehicles and passenger carrying vehicles.

These courses are 7 hours each and together count towards 14 hours of the required 35 hours training. They provide you with the skills and confidence needed to administer first aid in emergency situations while on the road.

What you will learn

If you attend our Emergency First Aid at Work course you can obtain credit for Unit 1 (7 hours). If you attend our Outdoor First Aid course you can obtain credit for Units 1 and 2 (14 hours).

Please bring along on the first day some photographic identification.

Students completing Driver’s CPC first aid training must provide one of the following photographic proofs of identity:

  • Driving license photocard
  • Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
  • Digital Tachograph Card

Course duration

Each course is seven hours. Drivers must complete the full course to gain the seven hours towards Driver CPC.

Certification

The Professional drivers first aid certificate is valid for three years. This means drivers can re-qualify within the same five-year JAUPT period and the training hours will count separately, giving a total of 28 hours Driver CPC training towards the required total of 35.

Active Aid Ltd will upload qualification details to the DSA database within five working days of course completion.

We will also issue an EFAW certificate and 2 day Outdoor First Aid certificate to students who complete the course.

Driver CPC regulations

EU regulations require drivers of passenger carrying vehicles (PCV) with nine or more seats, and large goods vehicles (LGV) over 3.5 tonnes, to complete 35 hours of training within rolling five year periods.
