Pete Cunningham and Julie Bowlby - The principals of Adventure Learning

 
 

Pete Cunningham

Pete has been coaching and teaching in the outdoors for over 25 years. In the past, he has delivered REC (Rescue Emergency Care) and  ITC (ITC first aid)  courses but now delivers Active Aid (not-for-profit company) Outdoor First Aid courses. 

 He has a Certificate of Education and a Higher National Diploma in JNC Youth and Community Worker.

He is a member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors  and holds the Summer and Winter Mountain Leader Award, Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor – formerly Mountaineering Instructor Award (MIA), and the Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor – formerly Mountaineering Instructor Certificate (MIC)

When time allows Pete is an active caver and a local cave leader as well as a BCU Level three Canoe Instructor and a Kayak Instructor.

His big love is assisting as a pilot (ski buddy) behind a bi-sit ski ( BASI Adaptive Ski Instructor.)

He is is also an active paraglider and can often be found at Cloudbase.

When at home he volunteers as a Community First Responder supporting North West Ambulance Service

 

 

 

Julie Cunningham

Julie Cunningham has over 15 years of experience as an outdoor educator. Julie is a qualified teacher having taught at Radry Comprehensive in the early nineties. She is the holder of the  Mountain Instructor Award, Summer and Winter Mountain Leader Award, a BCU Asp 5 coach in Canoeing and Level 3 Inland and Sea Kayaking,  a member of Association of Mountaineering Instructors as well as being a keen rock climber and mountaineer.
Her main love is overseas expeditions and she has organised kayaking, trekking, climbing, skiing and mountaineering expeditions to Africa, South America, Europe and the Himalayas.
